Kampus Krems
The hearth is the center of message, the “punctum” of society. An activated, illuminated core of public togetherness but also Zweisamkeit: the campfire site. The campus is in its form(at) spatially open to the public, inviting but also visually directing, the initiates a place of ritual Zusammengehoerigkeit. The design-intervention reveals the relationship and translates the grammatical needs into physical intervention the desired fluid content will be represented by fluctuation of visitors / occupants /students. Language as main instrument of communication and human interaction becomes a social institution and physically erlebbar. When text now finally disappears, the intervention opens up and invites for occupation and activation. Punctuation reveals a social logic and grammatical structure for the campus, the hearth signifies and exclaims. This competition was done in collaboration with Axel Schmitzberger of Domaen.
